On Saturday, the Liverpool boss will be without three first-team players, with Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana still working their way back to peak fitness, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will play no part this season due to a long-term knee injury.

Sadio Mane has been that man for Liverpool, with four goals already this season and looking like this could be his year to emerge from the shadow of Mohamed Salah, who netted twice the last time these two sides played.

Manager Klopp has since responded to Neville's comments in a press conference on Friday.

With the worldwide break over, Liverpool heads to Wembley Stadium on Saturday to face Tottenham in a Premier League match.

The best news for the Reds is the number of players they have who are between 24 and 27, and theoretically coming into their prime.

"I know that's very hard to do but if they could go into February, March, April without it, I think they could have a real chance [of winning the league] if they had free weeks."How would that work?"

Jurgen Klopp's side finished 25 points behinds Pep Guardiola's men, but did show glimpses of what they are capable of, not least in the Champions League.
