The storm was the second-wettest tropical system to affect the United States and the wettest tropical system on record in Hawaii, surpassing Hurricane Hiki in 1950.

A confluence of storms this close together is notable, according to NHC scientist Eric Blake.

And while he assured South Carolinians that official preparations were well underway, the governor emphasized what he called the "unofficial" part of preparations: citizen preparedness.

"We know that the Syrian armed forces are getting ready to solve this problem", Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday. Jeffrey said the U.S.is taking a tougher stance and will not tolerate an all-out attack on the region.

Gov. David Ige signed an emergency proclamation that will provide relief for disaster damages, losses and suffering caused by Hurricane Olivia. "Equally, if not more disastrous potential exists with the slow movement that we expect to see Florence have after reaching the coast", Knabb says. "I'm afraid it's going to be a big one", she said. A tropical storm could bring heavy rain and flooding, especially in places that are saturated from previous storms. Large swells generated by Olivia are expected to continue to increase near the main Hawaiian Islands, and surf will to build as Olivia approaches, and may become damaging on some exposed east facing shores Tuesday or Wednesday.

Olivia would be the second tropical system to directly impact the Hawaiian Islands this year. The next updates will come from the Central Pacific Hurricane Center.

Most models now show the system tracking over the Big Island as a Tropical Storm on Wednesday; however the long-term forecast continues to undergo revisions as new data is evaluated with each update. The "p" storm has already formed in the eastern Pacific, and we have a couple months left in the season.
