Pete Carroll on a potential Earl Thomas trade

Seattle Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas plans to report to team headquarters, ending his extended holdout. But he is apparently reporting nonetheless, the latest step in a story that began previous year when he began making rumblings of wanting a new contract, and a story that likely has many more chapters to come. Thomas' reaction to the lack of a resolution was clear in his post: "The disrespect has been noted and will not be forgotten".

As of the moment, any deal between the Seahawks and the Cowboys with regards to the fate of Thomas is unlikely to push through, especially when considering Dallas executive vice president Stephen Jones' statement last week that his team and Seattle have not had any meaningful discussions of late. A source confirmed to the Times the news of the second-round offer and Seattle's refusal to accept it.

The Seahawks insist they are not willing to give away Thomas, who has held out of training camp because of his contract, a source told Schefter on Saturday.

’Mad Scientist’ Bryson DeChambeau claims 2nd straight FedEx Cup win
DeChambeau joined Vijay Singh as the only golfers to win the first two legs of the FedExCup Playoffs since they began in 2007. Amateur champion in his first full season on the PGA Tour, birdied his last three holes for a 68.

Thomas stood to begin losing game checks of $500,000 per weekend if he does not report in time to be on the active roster for the opening game, that is, 24 hours before Sunday's 1:25 p.m. "Father Time may have an undefeated record but best believe I plan on taking him into triple overtime when it comes to my career". Caught in the midst of Thomas' return to practice was the rumor the Dallas Cowboys upped their offer to a second-round pick in exchange for the Pro Bowl safety.

Even with Wednesday's news, all signs continue point the way they have for months: Thomas staying angry, playing out the final season of his contract, and becoming a free agent to sign elsewhere in March.

Thomas has since reported to the Seahawks, but he still doesn't appear to be thrilled with his situation. Chancellor missed the first two games before reporting.
