In the immediate aftermath of the Raiders' controversial decision to ship Khalil Mack to Chicago in a shocking, blockbuster trade on Saturday, franchise quarterback Derek Carr expressed the way he felt with a two-word tweet. "But it is what it is - it's part of the business", Carr said to ESPN's Paul Gutierrez.

"It isn't what anybody wanted - I think that's clear". "It's one of those sucky things that happen". The hardest part for me is, obviously you lose a good football player, but he's my brother. Unless you don't think Khalil Mack is worthy of being paid like one the best defensive players in the game, it's hard not to fault GM Reggie McKenzie for bungling contract negotiations. He spent the last two years in Dallas, but never touched the field during a regular season game.

With the recent trade of Khalil Mack, everyone seems to be down on the Raiders in 2018.

Just five days before the start of the regular National Football League season, linebacker Khalil Mack agreed to a six-year, $141 million, $90 million guaranteed contract with the Chicago Bears. They dealt their next two first-round picks, a third-rounder in 2020 and a sixth-rounder next year for Mack and a second and fifth-round pick in 2020.

Now, there's nothing for the Raiders to do but move on - as Carr said they would - and hope that the Bears are bad so that those first-round picks become top-10 picks.

’Mad Scientist’ Bryson DeChambeau claims 2nd straight FedEx Cup win
DeChambeau joined Vijay Singh as the only golfers to win the first two legs of the FedExCup Playoffs since they began in 2007. Amateur champion in his first full season on the PGA Tour, birdied his last three holes for a 68.

"We planned the next 10 to 15 years of our life sitting at the same lockers", Carr said Monday.

This isn't the same Bears team we have seen over the past few seasons.

If any new rookie is going to get a lot of playing time, it's going to be Alexander, whose size and speed make him a natural fit to play as the team's slot nickel corner. "We both have the same goals, but I just don't want him to win the Super Bowl". "I feel good about that". I believe that 100 percent we changed that, so it makes it a little bit better that we accomplished that together. That's the only thing left on our list that won't happen.

"It's very, very tough to say goodbye to a great player, but here we are today".

Carr took a bit less to get Jackson done and keep the Raiders on schedule to extend Mack the following offseason. In the almost 200 years of combined football played by the two storied franchises - Sunday night's season opener at Lambeau Field kicks off the 100th season for the Packers and 99th for the Bears - only 87 players have suited up for both teams, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
