Sindh, where the PPP has its government, and Balochistan, where a BAP-led coalition is in power, would be asked to enforce the new LG system under Article 140-A of the Constitution, he added.

He also pointed out the possible challenges Khan could face in foreign policy options saying that the foreign policy might be revised by the Pakistani government.

Zarif stated that Iran wished continued progress and prosperity to the people of Pakistan and delivered a message of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, inviting Khan for the upcoming Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) summit in Iran in October 2018.

The prime minister said that none of his cabinet members has been appointed permanently and could be shuffled on the basis of performance. He said his party had never formed the government before and lacked full understanding of some issues, adding that when the PTI had formed the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government after the 2013 general elections, it had taken them 100 days just to fully understand the scope of the issues facing them. Instead there would be tehsil governments to be headed by tehsil mayors whereas city mayor would head the whole system of tehsil governments in a city. He said that around 200 plantation distribution centres had been set up to provide saplings to people free of cost. "No leniency will be tolerated for the implementing 100-day plan of change", he directed to the ministers of Punjab. The prime minister's office says it's Khan's first meeting with a foreign dignitary since he was sworn in on August 18th. "I proposed that the existing union councils be retained and this was also endorsed by the prime minster", he said.

Imran Khan is known for his criticism of United States military policy in Afghanistan but after taking over as the prime minister, he has advocated better ties with the US.

PM Khan said no effort should be spared in providing fool-proof security and proper facilities to the Zaireen.

"Timely and proactive cooperation by Iran in providing such access facilitates implementation of the Additional Protocol and enhances confidence", it said.

Khan also briefed the attending journalists on his recent meeting with National Accountability Bureau Chairman Javed Iqbal.
