Browns coach Hue Jackson said Monday that he expects to be facing Bell on Sunday.

By not signing the tender, Bell missed the Steelers' camp, same as a year ago, with no repercussions.

Even if Bell reports on Wednesday and practices immediately, it looks as though James Conner will get the start at halfback Sunday in Cleveland.

"When he gets here, that's when we'll start quantifying all Le'Veon Bell related things, his overall readiness, the amount of time that we have between his arrival and our next competition", Tomlin said, adding he has not been in communication with Bell this week. With the season set to debut in five days, head coach Mike Tomlin was asked when his star would be on the field.

Details Revealed In Bears, Raiders Trade For Khalil Mack
As Raiders fans wake up to the news that defensive end Khalil Mack will be traded to the Bears , they're not going to be happy. But aside from Trubisky, Mack represents greater value than anyone Chicago has nabbed with its first pick in many, many years.

"We expect a lot from second-year players in terms of growth and development", said Tomlin. Right now, we are singularly focused on the guys who are here working and have been here working and building a plan around variables that we know.

The report states that even if Bell were to return to practice by Wednesday, Conner, who ran well in the preseason, will get the start at in Cleveland. Unless they remove his franchise tag, every game he misses from here on in will result in a $900,000 penalty, divisible from his $14.5 million salary.

Veteran Stevan Ridley and rookie fifth-rounder Jaylen Samuels are the other running backs on the 53-man roster. He also hasn't spoken to Bell this week, he said. "We put him in the backseat, strap him in and be ready to go". "It was about what Josh did", Tomlin said. As a matter of fact, he rose up in the face of it.

Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward insisted that the Bell situation won't be a distraction to the team, no matter how it plays out. Some of those guys I'm talking about are Vance McDonald, James Washington, Mike Hilton, T.J. Watt, and Xavier Grimble. All four players participated in practice Monday.
