Looking slow and exhausted on a sweltering night in Arthur Ashe Stadium, Federer double-faulted 10 times, failed to convert a trio of set points and lost 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (3) in the fourth round to John Millman in a match that began Monday and concluded at almost 1 a.m. on Tuesday. Nishikori advanced in the afternoon with a 6-3, 6-2, 7-5 victory over Philipp Kohlschreiber. She lost to Stephens again this year in the French Open semifinals.

Today's gutsy win from Millman was dotted with uncharacteristic errors from Federer, who looked sluggish and disinterested through large stretches of the fourth set.

He improved to 28-0 at the US Open against opponents ranked outside the top 50, and here's another reason it wasn't all that surprising the way things went against Sousa: Djokovic is now 5-0 in their head-to-head series, taking all 14 sets they've played against each other.

The measure to allow breaks in matches was implemented for three days in the opening week as the players battled sopping humidity and scorching heat. The Australian then seemed to be in trouble as the five-time champion broke him for a second time in the match in game five and then served for the set at 5-4.

It was the 37-year-old's earliest loss at a slam since the Australian Open in 2015 and the first time he has ever lost to a player ranked outside the top 50 in NY.

"I don't think she was struggling so much", Vondrousova said.

Naomi Osaka reached her first grand slam quarter-final with victory over fellow 20-year-old Aryna Sabalenka.

Djokovic did his part improving his flawless NY record in fourth round contests to 11-0 leaving it to Federer, who will take on Australian John Millman in the late contest on Arthur Ashe Stadium court to give the fans what would be a hotly anticipated match-up.

Focac Summit To Set New Path For China Africa Ties
Last year, 628,000 African tourists visited China, 4.4 per cent more than 2016, while over a million Chinese travelled to Africa. At the 2015 Johannesburg Summit Chinese President Xi Jinping made a $60 billion pledge in loans to African countries .

But it's his father Ron, nicknamed "The Fox", who has become somewhat of a social media star, after getting lost on his way to watch his son play at the Wimbledon earlier this year.

The defending US Open champion would not be denied and fired his seventh ace on match point to end the three hour, 20-minute tussle 6-3 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-4.

Maria Sharapova won the U.S. Open as a teenager.

The Aussie then held his cool to race to a 6-1 lead in the breaker before closing it out 7-3.

"Felt like a deer in the headlights to begin with, to be honest", he said courtside.

Nishikori missed the U.S. Open previous year because of a right wrist injury.

The Ukrainian got some help from her opponent.
